The
project included the design and construction of the strengthening interventions
of the a two-storey building in Artaki Evia, so as to add one storey in height.
The strengthening interventions involved the re-design and construction of new
the building foundation, the construction of new shear-walls, the strengthening
of existing vertical elements of reinforced concrete by increasing the cross-section
with the application of new steel reinforcement, cast concrete and shotcrete,
increasing the confinement of columns with carbon fibre fabrics, the implementation
of shear reinforcement using epoxy resins etc.
The budget reached to 30.000,00 euros approximately. The construction began
in July 2008 and ended in September 2008.
