The project involved the restoration and strengthening of a steel bridge structure that had sustained extensive damage due to severe corrosion.<\/p>\n

In particular, the column base plates, bracing members, and numerous stiffening plates exhibited significant deterioration and cross-section loss, as a result of prolonged exposure to the marine environment.<\/p>\n

Depending on the extent of deterioration, structural elements were either replaced or strengthened through the addition of new steel plates.<\/p>\n

Upon completion of the strengthening works, a corrosion protection system was applied through protective coatings, while the column bases were encased in reinforced concrete blocks to ensure long-term protection against future corrosion.<\/p>\n

The works were carried out in March and April 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>
